DUBUQUE, IOWA (May 30) - Three Make up Features in the IMCA late models, a-modified and stock car divisions headlined the racing program here at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds Sunday night. In the IMCA late model division Dan Shelliam grabbed the lead at the outset and went on to capture the rained out portion of the spring championship from April 16th.Andy Eckrich placed second, Jeremiah Hurst was third, Brian Harris came from the rear of the pack to run fourth with last weeks feature winner Joel Callahan in fifth. In the A-Modified feature Dubuque driver Jason Schueller passed leader Matt Christ on lap eight enroute to winning his first open wheel victory of the season Schueller seems to have his mount working to perfection picking up the victory. Timmy Current was second, Tony Von Dresky third, Matt Christ fourth, with Mike Burbridge fifth, for the twenty lap spring championship. In the stock car division West Liberty track champion for 2009 David Brandies started at the rear of the pack caught leader Greg Gill with just a few laps remaining and went on to win the stock car spring championship. Gill placed second, Jerry Miles was third, Jeff Brame fourth, with Ethan Milder fifth. Now the event finishes for the regular program, in the IMCA late model division Dan Shelliam took advantage of Joe Callahans misfortune taking the lead with one lap remaining to capture his second IMCA late model win of the evening. Callahan had lead the first twenty three laps but trying to pass a lap car going down the backstretch, the two got hooked together with Callahan almost spinning out, but once he regi\ained his momentum Shelliam was already by for the lead and on for the win. Callahan was second Luke Merfeld third, Andy Eckrich fourth, with Mike Murphy fifth. The Race was marred by a bad wreck involving the cars of Jeremiah Hurst which slowed going into turn one, and he was collected by Jason Rauen, Justin Kay, and Dean Wagner with Wagner going upside down. Thankfully nobody was hurt. In the A-Modified weekly main event young Ryan DeShaw put on a clinic as this young drove a most impresive race winning his first modified feature win of the 2010 racing season. Finishing several car lengths back in second was Mike Burbridge, third Timmy Current, fourth winner of the first feature tonight Jason Schueller, with veteran Ronnie Barker fifth. It took four restarts until one lap was completed, but driver Greg Gill was a man on a mission as he came from twelfth place on the start and lead every lap thereafter winning his fifth feature of the season with the victory. Terry Rittmer placed second, David Brandies was third, Jeff Brame fourth, with Jerry Miles fifth. Dustin Wilwert, had his racer purring to perfection as he added his name to the win collumn winning the B-Modified feature for his first victory of the season. Matt Gansen was second, Jed Freiburger third, Kyle Eberle fourth, with Kenny Boyes fifth. In the Limited Stock division Jeff Baker took the lead on lap eight and motroed on for his first win of the season. Tim Schneider was second, Steve Miller third, Hope Schmerebach fourth, with Larry Schultz fifth. In the flyer division Jeremy Campbell notched his first win of the year leading the flyer feature flag to flag. Wes Digman was second ,Ricky Kay third, Derek McBee fourth, with Jeremy Vasquez fifth.
