DUBUQUE, IOWA (June 6, 2010) - Racing fans of all ages were treated to some exciting racing action in all six divisions here at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds Sunday evening. In the IMCA late model division early leader Dean Wagner back after completely demolishing a car one week ago put his racer to the front and lead laps one through six. Luke Merfeld then joined the mix and went to the point leading laps eight through ten.Not to be outdone Terry Neal joined the frey leading laps eleven and twelve only to have Luke Merfeld come back on top for lap thirteen. Neal finally took the lead for good on lap fourteen and lead the remaining eleven laps for the victory. Luke Merfeld finished second, Cory Goldbeck third, Joel Callahan fourth, with Dean Wagner fifth. Veteran Ronnie Barker found the high groove of the race track to his liking grabbed the lead on lap three and motored on for his first a modified feature win of the season for the driver from Dubuque. Timmy Current placed second, Tony Von Dresky third, Jason Schueller fourth, with Ryan DeShaw last weeks feature winner fifth. 26 stock cars made there way to the speedway Sunday evening, and when the smoke had cleared, and the dust had settled, Muscatine own Greg Gill had emerged the victor for feature win number seven. He grabbed the lead for good on lap seven enroute to the victory. Jerry Miles was second, Cory Bauer third, Terry Rittmer fourth, with Jon Poll fifth. In the B-Mod division Jed Freiburger took the lead on lap two and went on to capture another victory in this division. John Campbell Sr. had his best outing of the year thus far finishing second, Kenny Boyes was third, Matt Christ fourth with P.J. Schmitt fifth Tyler Soppe passed Hope Schmerebach with two laps remaining to win the ten lap limited stock feature. Schmerebach was second, Jeff Baker third, Jeremy Campbell fourth, with Steve Miller fifth. Second year driver Pat Quinn grabbed the lead for good on lap eight and went to win the ten lap flyer feature feature. Jeremy Campbell was second, Tyler Kelly third, Jacob Ellerthorpe fourth with Chris Holhumb fifth. Remember no racing next Sunday. Racing returns Sunday June 20th.
