By: Jeff Werderman

CRESCO, IA (June 23) - The JR Motorsports Hawkeye Dirt Tour for IMCA Modifieds heads to the Cresco Speedway. The Mighty Howard County Fair will be the backdrop for the third race (of ten) for the HDT. The Kwik Star of Cresco A-Main offers a $1,000 payday to the winner.

Richie Gustin (Gilman, IA) won the last HDT event, and that win pushed Gustin to the top of the JR Motorsports Hawkeye Dirt Tour standings. Josh Foster (Montrose, IA), the tour's inaugural winner, sits just five points back in second. Jay Noteboom (Hinton, IA) rounds out the top three, just seven points behind of the leader. All three, and several of the best IMCA Modified drivers, are expected to compete for the $1,000 top prize.

Also running that night are the B-Mods, Stock Cars, and Hobby Stocks. Local track rules apply. For more details on the support classes, log onto www.mhcfair.com

Pit gates open at 4:00. IMCA Modified pre-tech also begins at that time. The grandstands open at 5:30. A drivers meeting is set for 6:30. Hot laps will roll onto the track at 6:45 with the Specialty Technologies Heat Races will follow.
