Rauen Notches Corn Belt Win at Independence Wednesday July 14th

INDEPENDENCE, IOWA (July 14, 2010) - Hammer down Jason Rauen grabbed the lead away from earlier leader Dave Eckrich on the tenth lap, then lead the remaining twenty five laps for his first win of the series winning the thirty five lap Dart Corn Belt Clash late model feature here at the Independence Motor Speedway during the running of the Buchannan County Fair.

Dave Eckerich who started on the pole vaulted into the early lead and lead the first nine circuits. Rauen who started seventh in the twenty two car starting grid moved to fifth by lap three,to second on lap five,and five laps later found himself in the lead.

Jason Utter,Terry Neal,and Chris Simson were the top five after ten laps.Rauen Dave Eckrich,Jason Utter,Curt Martin, Chris Simpson,,Terry Neal Chad Simpson,Justin Kay,Jeff Aikey,and Kevin Kile were the top ten at the half way mark.

Rauen continued to build on his lead,driving through traffic with ease,The Farley,Iowa native would go on to capture the win and the $2,000 payday. Jason Utter finished second after starting ninth, Curt Martin was third, Chad Simpson winner of seven out of the first eight Dart Corn Belt Series Features was fourth, with brother Chris Simpson fifth after starting eleventh. Rauen enjoyed a perfect night with a heat race win, while Tyler Breuning, and Rick Wendling also posted heat race wins.
