WEST LIBERTY, IOWA (July 31) - Saturday night marked the return of the IMCA late models to the Muscatine County Fairgrounds and the west liberty raceway. In five divisions of racing three of those went caution free, and the modifieds now two out of the last three weeks have went fifty laps caution free pretty remarkable. In the IMCA late model division eighteen late models were on hand featuring the 2010 IMCA National Deery Brothers Summer Series National Points leader Ray Guss Jr. and the overall all time Deery Series leader in wins Jeff Aikey.In the twenty five lap a-main Guss who started eleventh quickly moved through the field as he moved around early leader Rob Toland on lap ten, then lead the remaining fifteen laps for his eighteenth win on what is and incredible season. Four of those wins have come on the Deery Series most recently this past
Wednesday at the famous Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. Wheeling the
Roberts Motorsports entry out of east Moline, Illinois,Guss was followed
across the stripe by Andy Eckrich in second who started tenth,Ron Boyse had
a stellar run finishing third after starting eighth, Colby Springsteen In the Gustaf Engine and Machine open wheel modified division Brad Dierks passed Noah Coppess on the third lap and set sail leading the remaining seventeen laps for his seventh feature win overall for the season.Ryan Dolan who started eighth finished second,Larry Herring came home third,Dean Mahlstadt finished fourth,with Noah Coppess rouning out the top five. In the Kile Motorsports Stock Car division Matt Greiner continues his
winning ways as he chalked up win number eleven leading the fifteen lapper
from flag to flag an event that went caution freeas well.The real battle was
between greg gill and scotty pratt for second as they battled for several
laps before gill finally won out.David Brandies finished third,Pratt fourth
