BOONE, IOWA (August 4) – Donations will be accepted this Saturday, Aug. 7 to benefit Victory Junction, during American Concrete Products Night at Boone Speedway. All proceeds go to Victory Junction, the Randleman, N.C., camp for children with chronic medical conditions or serious illness, built in honor of the late Adam Petty on 84 acres donated by Richard and Lynda Petty
More than 11,000
children ages six to 16 have attended Victory Junction since the camp opened
in 2004. Victory Junction serves 24 chronic medical conditions and serious
illnesses including but not limited to autism, cancer, craniofacial
anomalies, diabetes, hemophilia, sickle cell and Spina bifida. Donations cover the approximate $2,500 cost for each child to attend. No child or family incurs the estimated $2,500 cost of sending a child to camp, thanks to the generosity of donors. Boone Speedway donors will be entered in a drawing for autographed items from Richard and Kyle Petty. Those items range from hats, matchbox cars, die cast cars, handkerchiefs, hero-cards, etc. Aug. 14 is health and safety night at Boone Speedway. An ambulance and fire truck will be on display from 6-8 p.m. Race fans can meet and greet with Officer Frazier and his K-9 partner, local EMTs and firefighters during the evening. Freebies, goodies and activities for kids of all ages are also planned. The regular weekly race program both nights includes IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and dwarf cars.
