DUBUQUE, IOWA (August 22) - Entering this weekend the IMCA National points battle heated up with Terry Neal trailing Ray Guss Jr going into weekend competition by a mere six points. Neal won at Maquoketa at the Jackson A County Raceway on Saturday night, then followed the same fete up here Sunday night at the Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway as he passed Jeff Aikey on the thir lap then lead the remaining twenty two laps to record his fourteenth IMCA late model feature winof the season and second this weekend. Imca points end next sunday the 29th and this points battle sure looks to go down to the wir between these tow savy and class act veterans.. After a first lap pit stop Dan Shelliam came from the rear of the pack to run second,Tyler Breuning ran third, Luke Goedert fourth, with Jeremiah Hurst fifth. Tony VonDresky passed Ron Barker on the fifth lap then kept Mike Weideman and Ron Barker at bay the rest othe way to record his fourth a-modified feature win of the season.Weideman and Barker had a real dog fight for second going swapping the position back and orth several laps before Weideman took over for good on lap eighteen.Ron Barker ran third,Mike Burbridge fourth with Jeff Larson fifth. For eight years Andy Hedrick has been attempting to win a stock car feaure trying week after week.Tonight he succeeded as he sarted on the pole and lead the twelve lapper from flag to flag for his first ever career win..Joe Bonney placed second,Terry Rittmer was third,K.C.Ansel fourth,with Jerry Miles fifth. Matt Gansen took the lead at the drop of the green flag then held off pressure from Jed Freiburger throughout to capture his fourth b-modified feature victory of the season.Jed Freiburger was second,Kurt Christ was third,Dustin Wilwert fourth,with John Campbell Sr. fifth. Troy Brauer motored in front at therop of the green flag and went on to capture his fourth limited stock feature victory of the season. Jeff Baker was secnd,eremy Campbell third,Steve Miller fourth,with Tim Schneider fifth. Plagued by mechanical issues engine woes you name it hes had it happen,well tonight Wes Digman won his heat race,then came back and captured the ten lap flyer feature for his first win of 2010.Andrew Betts was second,Derek McBee third,Adam Willis fourth,with Jeremy Vasquez fifth.
