WEST LIBERTY, IOWA (August 28) - Nick Marolf passed early leader Andy Eckrich on lap nineteen, then lead the remaining sixteen laps to capture the 35 lap Precision Transmission open late model season championship feature event here at the West Liberty Raceway Saturday night. Marolf, a ten year veteran all of which have been in a late model secured his first track championship with the win. Marolf,who picked up his first win a couple of weeks back,found victory lae in a different mount one which he had crashed on tornado tuesday.Nick said afterwards Dad asked if i thought i could get it together,and they have been racing it all week from wednesday on with much success tonight.Andy Eckrich finished second,Jeremiah Hurst was third, Kurt Kile fourth,with brother Kevin Kile fifth. Todd Hansen passed Noah Coppess after a lap sixteen restart, then motored on for the next four laps in notching his second Gustaf Engine & Machine modified feature victory of theseason. Coppess lead the first fifteen laps but Hansen was gaining ground on Coppess before the caution came out.Fast Larry Herring finished second and notched his fourth track championship in the process. Bruce Hanford finished tird,Ryan Dolan fourth,with Noah Coppess finishing fifth. In the Kile Motorsports Stock Car division points leader Matt Greiner started on the pole, and never looked back in winning the fifteen lapper for his fifteenth victory of the season here and sixteenth overall and a track championship to boot. One heck of a season for the driver from Washington, Iowa..New to the division tonight in his 1st appearance of the season and finishing second was Scotty Dierks. Greg Gill was third, David Brandies fourth, with another new face tonight after winning the stock car feature at the cedar county raceway in Tipton, Iowa on Friday night, Jamie Figg in fifth. Jarret Franzen started on the pole survived through a couple of cautions and went on to capture his second Spenler Tire B-Modified feature win of the season in convincng fashion.Brad Tyler and Zack Less had one heck of a points battle going on between the two but misfortune struck the Tyler machine with a broken fron end with five laps remaining. Zack Less who finished second notched his first track championship for the youngster from Hopkington,Iowa. Jason Speers finished third, Doug Pratt fourth, with Shelly Mizell fifth. Jordan Walker grabbed the lead at the drop of the green flag and lead the US6 Body Works fler feature makeup from last week from flag to flag for his first victory of the season.James Roose was second, Tyler Kelly third, Shaun Slaughter fourth, with Rob Axsom fifth. In the nightcap Shaun Slaughter grabbed the lead at the outset ane lead the ten lapper in its entiret for his ninth win of the year. Tyler Kelly finished second and notched his second track championship this season and third for his career, Pat Quinn made the trip down from Dubuque and ran third, Rob Axsom fourth, with Dewayne Herb fifth.
