7th Annual Spooktacular Set to Invade Davenport Speedway

DAVENPORT, Iowa (September 24, 2010) – The 7th Annual Spooktacular will be held at the Davenport Speedway this Saturday, September 25th. The Spooktacular will be the final racing event of the 2010 season at Davenport. The event features two classes racing for a $1,000-to-win top prize.  

Drivers in the 4 Stock and Street Stock classes will each have a chance to race for a quick grand. Both classes will run a 50-lap feature. The 2009 Spooktacular saw Brannon Bechen of Bernard, Iowa win the 4 Cylinder feature, while Brendan Driscoll of Preston, Iowa won the Street Stock main.  

Also racing at this year’s Spooktacular will be Mod Lites/Dwarf Cars and Hobby Stocks. Both of those classes will be racing for a $300 top prize. There is no entry fee for any of the classes at this year’s Spooktacular. 

4 Cylinder Stocks have always been a featured class at the Spooktacular. Previous winners include Joe Zrostlik (2004 & 2006), Justin Kay (2005 & 2007), Jeremy Campbell (2008), and Brannon Bechen (2009). 

All classes will be using a draw-redraw format and racing under weekly DRT TRAK rules. Rules can be seen at ‘www.drttrak.com’.  

The pit area for the Spooktacular opens at 2:00p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 4:45p.m., with hot laps at 5:00p.m., and racing at 5:30p.m. 

The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa.
