HARLAN, Iowa (Sept. 13) – Shelby County Speedway celebrates a milestone when it hosts the 20th annual Tiny Lund Memorial on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16-17. The purse has been upped to more than $60,000. The IMCA Modified feature now pays $5,000 to win and a minimum of $250 to start, and is a qualifying event for the 2012 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods both race for $2,000 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $1,000 to win. National, regional and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded to Modified, Stock Car and Hobby Stock drivers. National and state points are at stake for Northern SportMods. Entry fees are now $150 for Modifieds, $75 for Stock Cars and SportMods, and $50 for Hobby Stocks. Gates open at 5 p.m. and Friday’s program of heat races for all divisions and pole dashes for Modifieds and Late Models follows the 6:30 p.m. drivers’ meeting. Pit passes are $25 and grandstand admission is $10 for adults and $6 for students that evening. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. Saturday with the 6 p.m. drivers’ meeting preceding last chance features and the main events. Pit passes are $30. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults and $10 for students. Two-day grandstand passes will be sold on Friday for $20. Kids 10 and under get in free both nights when accompanying a paid adult. Rain date is Sunday, Sept. 18.
