Miller Lite NDS Points Championship Night At Lakeside Speedway
WYANDOTTE, KS (Sept. 7, 2006) - Every thing must come to an end sooner or later.
The racing this season at Lakeside Speedway has been exceptional. Friday night
will bring the curtain down on the 2006 season.
Points races become a race within the races all year long. Who is consistant,
who wins the most races and who can claim the title? We can answer a lot of
these questions in 2 of the three divisions at Lakeside.
Tim Karrick, by virtue of his 2nd place finish last week, locked up the 2006
points championship in the Modified division. Karrick will now focus his
attention on the Regional and National Championships that are still within his
grasp. A regional championship is worth $25,000 and a national championship
would be worth $50,000! Either way it comes out, Karrick has had a great 2006.
The Grand National division has been decided for awhile. Gene Claxton adds to
his legend. Another track championship, another great year and another year of
great racing. Claxton is a gracious winner and seems to be popular with other
competitors in his class. With another Grand National title, when will someone
knock the king off of his hill?
The one class that is still up for grabs is the Factory Stock division. Lynn
Nelson leads by 44 points over Buzz Kaster. It breaks down like this, all Nelson
has to do is make the A main and finish no worse than 22nd. If he does this he
will win his first championship at Lakeside Speedway. If he does not come out of
the B, then the championship is up for grabs.
Several positions can still be won or lost tomorrow night at Lakeside Speedway.
Drivers have pride and they want to win and they want to finish as high as they
can. Look for the action to be fast and furious!
Gates open at 5pm, hot laps get started at 7 pm and the green flag drops at 7:30
pm.
Ticket prices are adults, $10, kids 8-14, $6 & children 7 & under free!
The next race at Lakeside Speedway will be the 7th Annual McCarthy Auto Group
Jayhawk Modified Classic. $5,000 to win and $1,000 to start awaits the racers
bad enough to tame the fast 1/2 mile race track.
