URSS Rebels Ready For “Duel In Dodge”

DODGE CITY KS (May 17) - Saturday, May 19th, marks the first installment of the “Duel In Dodge” between the URSS Traveling Series and The Dodge City Harley-Davidson Sprint Car Series. 2006 series champion, Jon Johnson from Utica, KS, will return to the familiar 86 after his son C.J. took the feature win in Oberlin two weeks ago.

Ransom’s Smokey Fairbanks, last week’s feature winner in Lexington, current points leader Cody Salem from St. Joseph, MO, and Justin Schwien, from Russell, KS, top off the list. The URSS Rebel’s will be battling local favorites such as the 2006 305 Jetmore Nationals Champion, Brandon Fisher, Dodge City’s own first 2007 feature winner, Brian Herbert, Darren Bowman, and Keefe Hemel. Other URSS drivers from Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, and Missouri will be competing for top honors.

Organizers are hoping for a field of 40 or more of the top 305 Sprint Car drivers in the Mid-West. The green flag drops at 7 p.m. at the Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kansas.
