EASTERN MUSEUM OF MOTOR RACING READY TO HOST
NSCHoF ‘REUNION EAST’ THIS SATURDAY AFTERNOON
Knoxville, IA (March 30, 2006) - According to National Sprint Car Hall of Fame (NSCHoF)
inductee Lynn Paxton, the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing in York Springs,
Pennsylvania, is all set to host the second annual ‘Eastern Reunion’ for
National Sprint Car Hall of Famers this Saturday afternoon, April 1. Said Paxton
today, “The Eastern Museum is ready to open for the season on Saturday, and
we’re excited about hosting the likes of Al Hamilton, Ray Tilley, Davey Brown,
‘Buster’ Warke, ‘Buzz’ Rose and some other very special guests from 11 a.m.
until 1 p.m. If you're a sprint car fan in central Pennsylvania, past or
present, you're going to want to be here on Saturday afternoon!”
The free meet-and-greet session with the fans will be hosted by veteran
historian Pat Sullivan of Indianapolis, and will take place at the Eastern
Museum of Motor Racing (EMMR) on the Latimore Valley Fairgrounds. All
East-Coast-based inductees into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame are invited
to participate in the forum, with last year’s panel including Lynn Paxton, Al
Hamilton, Keith Kauffman, Larry “Smokey” Snellbaker, Ray Tilley, and
Midwesterner Bob Trostle. Others expected to be on hand are former drivers Jimmy
Maguire and Kenny Slaybaugh, and United Racing Company's John and Cher
Zimmerman. Said NSCHoF executive director Tom Schmeh, "That's the neat deal
about working with Lynn Paxton on things like this... you never know who is
going to show up and be a part of the fun!"
Joe Heisler III is helping coordinate the activities, as he does each October
with the annual EMMR/NSCHoF Benefit Auction at the Williams Grove National Open.
Those seeking more information on the EMMR, which will be open from 10 a.m.
until 4 p.m. on that opening day, are encouraged to visit their web site at
www.emmr.org . Jim Cadwell, a former racer at
the Knoxville Raceway in the Fifties, will be part of the Knoxville-based
museum’s delegation. Those seeking more info on the NSCHoF are asked to visit
the national museum’s web site at
