Knoxville Raceway Opening Night Excitement Set to
Thrill

KNOXVILLE, IA (April 17, 2006) - Opening night at the Knoxville Raceway - The
excitement electrifies the air. The roar of the crowd, the thunder of the
engines, the blur of cars as they fly past the checkered flag. You won’t have to
imagine it anymore because Saturday night, April 22nd is opening night at the
Knoxville Raceway.
It’s Pizza Hut/McKay Insurance hosting the start of the regular season with hot
laps at 6:45 pm and racing at 7:30. It is anticipated that over 80 cars will be
on hand between the 360 and 410 classes. Each driver will be looking to gain
valuable points toward the 2006 season championship and largest season purse in
sprint car racing.
The Knoxville Raceway is universally known as “The Sprint Car Capital of the
World.” With a history that spans over 50 years of modern racing and a seating
capacity of over 25,000, this is truly one of the premier race tracks in the
country.
Tickets are just $12 for adults and kids 14 and under are just $3 for a fun
filled night of entertainment. And coming up on April 28 and 29 are the WDRL

The Knoxville Raceway is located 35 miles Southeast of Des Moines just off of
Highway 5. With 36 nights of racing from April into October ranging from the top
sprint car and late model racers in the world to the local favorites there is
something for everyone. Each year the Knoxville Nationals hosts over 100,000
people from all over the world in mid-August for four great days of racing and
