WEEKEND
by: Thomas J Schmeh
KNOXVILLE, IOWA (August 24, 2006) - Current National Sprint Tour (NST) runner-up
Steve Kinser of Bloomington, Indiana, is set to receive his 2005 North American
410 Sprint Car Poll “Driver of the Year” and “Team of the Year” awards this
weekend at the Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington.
According to poll coordinator Tom Schmeh of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum, “I apologize to Steve and the other poll award recipients for not getting these presentations done earlier in the season. I will also be presenting the last of the ’05 plaques in a ceremony at Knoxville Raceway on Saturday, October 7, during the make-up World of Outlaws (WoO) show.
At that time we will honor Doug Auld of Sprint Car & Midget magazine with the
‘Outstanding Contribution to the Sport Award’, Knoxville’s Ralph Capitani with
the ‘Promoter of the Year’ award, and Maxim Chassis with the North American 410
Sprint Car Poll ‘Builder/Manufacturer of the Year’ award for 2005.”
