NOMINEES ANNOUNCED FOR ’06 POST-SEASON NORTH AMERICAN 360
SPRINT CAR POLL AWARDS

KNOXVILLE, IA. (Nov. 27, 2006) - The names of the nominees for the 2006 North
American 360 Sprint Car Poll post-season awards were released today by poll
founder and coordinator Tom Schmeh. The select 24-member voting panel,
representing media members, manufacturers, promoters and sanctioning officials,
is currently in the final balloting process, and the names of the 8 award
recipients will be revealed on Wednesday, December 13, on the eve of the
Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show in Orlando, Florida. The nominees
for the 2006 North American 360 Sprint Car Poll post-season awards are as
follows:
Driver of the Year: Terry Gray, Chuck Hebing, Jason Johnson, Curt Michael, Gary
Wright.
Team of the Year: Dan Deming (Jr.)/Chuck Hebing, Andy Forsberg, Kathy Palladino,
Lanny Row.
Rookie of the Year: Brett Miller, Steve Poirier, Davey Sammons, Channin
Tankersley.
Builder/Manufacturer of the Year: J.V. Brotherton, Brian & Jeannie Butler, Jack
Elam, Dan Gentrup & Bob Westphal, Lynton & Paul Jeffrey, Chuck Merrill.
Media Member of the Year: Doug Auld, Allan Holland, Lonnie Wheatley, Justin Zoch.
Promoter of the Year: Tracey Clay, Emmett Hahn, Glenn Styres, Pete Walton.
Wild Card Award (for exciting sprint car performances): Chuck Hebing, Jason
Johnson, Danny Martin (Jr.), Steve Poirier, Ricky Stenhouse (Jr.), Jessica
Zemken.
Outstanding Contribution to the Sport Award: Fred Brownfield (deceased), Tom
Deery, Johnny Gibson, Dick Jordan, Terry McCarl/Bill McCroskey.
The North American Sprint Car Poll post-season awards, like the National Sprint
Car Hall of Fame induction awards, are official programs of the National Sprint
Car Hall of Fame & Museum Foundation, Inc. The Outstanding Contribution to the
Sport Award is the only poll award voted on by members of all three voting
panels (‘360’, ‘410’, Non-Winged). Those seeking more information should visit
