KRCO BENEFIT SOFTBALL GAME SET FOR TUESDAY, AUGUST 7, IN
KNOXVILLE
by: Thomas J Schmeh
KNOXVILLE, IA (June 6, 2007) - The Knoxville Racing Charitable Organization (KRCO)
benefit softball game, featuring the World of Outlaws (WoO) drivers versus WoO
officials, will take place this year on Tuesday, August 7, at Youngs Park next
to the Knoxville Raceway. The game will begin at 10 a.m. and will benefit the
KRCO, which helps injured Knoxville Raceway-related sprint car drivers and their
families. It is being held on International Day in Knoxville, which is part of
the celebration surrounding the 47th annual SuperClean Knoxville Nationals.
The KRCO benefit softball game is one of many activities coordinated by the
Knoxville Chamber of Commerce, which will take place during the Cox Design
Southern Iowa SprintWeek, August 2-11. Amongst the WoO drivers that have
committed to playing in the fan-friendly game are Danny Lasoski, Paul McMahan,
Joey Saldana, Dion Hindi, Brian Paulus, Randy Hannagan, Justin Henderson, and
Australians Brooke Tatnell and Kerry Madsen. They will take on WoO
administrators like recent National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee Shane
Carson and his team of sanctioning officials. Knoxville Raceway employees and
officials, led by marketing director Brian Stickel, will also be involved. The
game will be played in a fun and relaxed environment, and will receive support
from the half-mile dirt track and its Junior Fan Club.
For more information on the August 7 KRCO benefit softball game, individuals are
urged to contact Teresa Rowley at the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce at
