WAYNE JOHNSON NAMED MR. SPRINT CAR AFTER TAKING
2007 COX DESIGN SOUTHERN IOWA SPRINTWEEK POINT TITLE

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (August 12, 2007) - Native Oklahoman Wayne Johnson, now living
in Knoxville, has officially been named Mr. Sprint Car after compiling the
most Cox Design Southern Iowa SprintWeek points over ten straight nights of
sprint car racing between Knoxville Raceway and the Southern Iowa Speedway in
nearby Oskaloosa. Johnson, with his eleventh place finish in last night's 47th
annual SuperClean Knoxville Nationals A Main, totaled 266 points and collected
$2,500. Kaley Gharst of Decatur, Illinois, who had led the points after the
first nine nights, struggled in the D Main and wound up the series with 252
points and $1,000. Brian Brown, who finished thirteenth in the national
championship A Main, earned 249 points and $500.
