JACK HOUSBY ELECTED PRESIDENT OF NATIONAL SPRINT CAR MUSEUM
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
KNOXVILLE, IOWA (Oct 18) - Jack Housby of Des Moines is the newly-elected
president of the board of directors of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame &
Museum Foundation. Doug Auld of Piqua, Ohio, who was president in 2006-2007, is
now immediate past president of the Knoxville-based 501(c)(3) non-profit museum
foundation.
Mike Brooks of Knoxville is the vice-president, while Louis Long of Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, is secretary/treasurer. Andy Clark of Oskaloosa and Pat Sullivan
of Carmel, Indiana, were elected to four-year terms on the 9-member board during
the Knoxville Nationals.
Continuing their terms on the board are Dick Woodland of Paso Robles,
California; Roger Johnson of Memphis, Tennessee; and Jim Jones of Knoxville. The
board, staff and membership of the museum would also like to thank Grant Rankin
of Bussey and Steve Agan of Knoxville for their years of service.
Recently elected to two-year terms on the 21-member advisory board of directors
were Iowans Bob Dyer, Bob Maxwell, Larry Storey, Jim Cadwell and Kent Chrisman;
and Tom Hall of Pennsylvania, Chuck Fawcett of California, Ken Clapp of
California, Joe Harz of New Jersey, National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Shane
Carson of Oklahoma, and Bob Mays of Nebraska. Elected to one-year terms on the
advisory board, each filling an unexpired term, were Tony Bokhoven of Iowa and
David Vodden of California, respectively.
Continuing their terms on the advisory board are Iowans Al Cole, Duane Davis,
Mike Husted, and Brian Stickel; and Larry Janicsek of Wisconsin, National Sprint
Car Hall of Famer Lynn Paxton of Pennsylvania, Allan Brown of Michigan, and Tony
Ross of Missouri.
The board, staff and membership would like to acknowledge Mike Richardson of
Iowa, Art Worral of Iowa, Steve Beitler of Washington, and Dick Carbery of New
York for their efforts over the years on behalf of the sports museum.
The next four quarterly board of directors meetings will take place in Speedway,
Indiana, in November; Tulsa, Oklahoma (Chili Bowl Midget Nationals), in January,
2008; Knoxville (NSCHoF induction weekend) in June, 2008; and Knoxville
(Nationals) in August, 2008, respectively.
