John Hall records best finish of the season

by: Stacy Ervin

MARION, IOWA (June 7, 2008)--John Hall and the Left Turn Enterprises racing team recorded their best finish of the season so far on Saturday, June 7, at the Sprint Car Capitol of the World, Knoxville Raceway, in Knoxville, Iowa.

The Marion, Iowa, driver came home 17th in the 360 A-Main, but it was a night which allowed his crew to address some of the mechanical problems that have plagued the team all year.

The team took a week off from Knoxville Championship Cup Series action last week and spent some time dealing with issues in both the fuel system and the brake system. Some of the work paid off, as Hall piloted the No. 7H to a hot-lap time that was 12th out of 28 drivers competing in the division Saturday night.

Hall made a very impressive run in his heat race, despite another disappointing draw which saw him race off from the eighth starting spot.
He finished fourth in the seven-lap race, amassing enough passing points to put him 11th on the starting grid for the night's A-Main.

During the 15-lap feature event, the brake problems resurfaced and more troubles came in the form of a vibration in the rear end. Those problems, along with a missed setup on the car, led to the 17th-place finish.

The crew will be working this week to address some more of the mechanical problems in an effort to be back in action on Saturday, June 14. The car is owned by Charles and Doris Hall. Crew members are Darrell Bonesteel, Cole Page, Cass Page and Steve Lindell.

Sponsors include Maxim Racing, Parker Engines, APC Emmert Metal Fabricators, Super Shox, Chalk Stix Torsion Bars, Marion Dairy Queen, Thompson Aero Service and Seal-It International.

The team is actively seeking additional funding to help with its racing effort.
