According to museum executive director Bob Baker, “We have a great mix of
forums again this year, aimed at attracting sprint car fans from all over
the world, young and old, to the museum during the 48th annual SuperClean
Knoxville Nationals, presented by Lucas Oil. We’re also excited about making
our International Reel Wheel Film Festival a part of the Fan Fair on
Saturday of the Nationals. Both Dennis Doornbos’ ‘Open Road: Inside the NST’
and Darren Garnick’s ‘Hell Drivers’ documentaries have been making the
national indie film festival circuit, and we’re very proud to host their
Iowa premieres during this year’s Nationals. And, by popular demand, we're
bringing back Bruce Boertje's 'Lucky Louis LeCocq' documentary about nearby
Pella, Iowa's early Indianapolis 500 racer.”
