They are as follows: August 22-23, 2008 - Castrol Raceway; Edmonton, Alberta, Canada - Oil City Cup (World of Outlaws 410's) September 12-13, 2008 - Ohsweken Speedway; Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada - Canadian Sprint Car Nationals (360's) December 26, 2008 - Western Springs Speedway; Auckland, North Island, New Zealand - Western Springs Sprint Car Classic (410's) January 3, 2009 - Blue Chip Stadium at Baypark Speedway; Mount Maunganui, North Island, New Zealand - New Zealand Sprint Car Grand Prix (410's) January 24-25, 2009 - Sungold Stadium at Premier Speedway; Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia - Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic (410's) According to Knoxville’s director of racing Ralph “Cappy” Capitani, “Due to the unfortunate rainout of the World of Outlaws show at Ohsweken Speedway in July, the 2008 Canadian Sprint Car Nationals for winged 360-cubic-inch sprint cars will now be the qualifier in eastern Canada for the MyRaceLife.com World Challenge to be held at Knoxville Raceway on Friday, August 14, 2009, during the Knoxville Nationals. American sprint car drivers will need to race in one of the three qualifiers in Australia or New Zealand in order to compete in the $10,000-to-win World Challenge invitational race at Knoxville, which is a key component in the Cox Design Iowa Speedweek championship. Those American and international drivers competing in one of the five designated qualifiers and competing in the 2009 Knoxville Nationals will again be inversion-eligible for the MyRaceLife.com World Challenge on August 14.” For more information on the Knoxville Raceway and its MyRaceLife.com World Challenge, fans are urged to visit www.knoxvilleraceway.com. |
