NEW NATIONAL SPRINT CAR MUSEUM BOARD MEMBERS TO MEET IN CHARLOTTE ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 31

KNOXVILLE, IA (Sept. 15, 2008) - Mike Brooks, president of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum Foundation’s board of directors, will welcome new members at the next quarterly board meeting in Charlotte on Friday, October 31, as part of the World of Outlaws (WoO) Vault World Finals at The Dirt Track at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Sprint car fans will remember Mike Brooks as the 1980 track champion at the Knoxville Raceway on the Marion County Fairgrounds, site of the national 501(c)(3) non-profit museum.

Louis Long of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is the vice-president, while Jim Jones of Knoxville and Andy Clark of nearby Oskaloosa are the foundation's secretary and treasurer, respectively. Grant Rankin of Bussey and Bruce St. James of Phoeniz, Arizona, were elected to four-year terms on the nine-member board during the 2008 Knoxville Nationals.

Continuing their terms on the board are Roger Johnson of Memphis, Tennessee, and Pat Sullivan of Carmel, Indiana, with Doug Auld of Piqua, Ohio, continuing on the board as immediate past president. The board, staff and membership of the museum would also like to thank Jack Housby of Des Moines and Dick Woodland of Paso Robles, California, for their years of service on the nine-member board of directors. Dick Woodland now moves to the 24-member advisory board of directors of the museum.

Joining Californian Dick Woodland on the advisory board are Iowans Bob Dyer, Bob Maxwell, Larry Storey, Jim Cadwell, Kent Chrisman, Annette Boehlje, Tim Phillips, Larry Smith, Duane Davis, Brian Stickel, and Tony Bokhoven, and Tom Hall of Pennsylvania, Chuck Fawcett of California, Ken Clapp of California, Joe Harz of New Jersey, Shane Carson of Oklahoma, Bob Mays of Nebraska, Emmett Hahn of Oklahoma, Dick Jordan of Indiana, Larry Janicsek of Wisconsin, Lynn Paxton of Pennsylvania, Allan Brown of Michigan, and David Vodden of California.
