KNOXVILLE, IA (Dec 2) – December 19, 2008, is going to be someone’s lucky day. At approximately 10 a.m. on Friday, December 19, the names of the Sprint Car raffle winners will be pulled from the barrel by former sprint car champion Mike Brooks, now president of the board of directors of the non-profit National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum Foundation, located in Knoxville, Iowa. A total of ten names will be drawn, with the first one pulled receiving the Grand Prize. The nine other names drawn will be the winners of exciting consolation prizes, ranging from race products to a sprint car driving school session. This year’s “Grand Prize” winner will receive a new, state-of-the-art JEI Performance sprint car complete with a new 410-cubic-inch race engine built by (Ron) Shaver Specialties. The other prizes include a "Smiley" Sitton Outlaw Driving School "Phase 1A Advanced Session" for two people, a Simpson “Open Wheel Driving Suit”, a Simpson “Valor” Racing Helmet, a Kwik Check “Wheel Balancer”, a “Racers Package” from Mechanix Wear, Speedway Motors “Tru-Stands” in aluminum and steel, Lynch Pro-Formance Products “Cleaners and Lubricants”, a DeeZee “Toolbox” and “Race Products” from Hepfner Racing Products. This will be the seventh time that the National Sprint Car Museum has conducted the biennial Sprint Car raffle, with all proceeds from the raffle benefitting the 501(c)(3) non-profit National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum Foundation and its program-based operations. Tickets may still be purchased and the raffle car can be seen as it makes its last appearance, before the December 19 drawing, at the 21st annual Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show, held at the Orlando Convention Center.
