John Hall racing team shows steady improvement

MARION, IA (May 10)—The second night of racing for John Hall and his Left Turn Enterprises racing team in 2009 brought steady improvement for the veteran driver from Marion, Iowa. The team ran the second night of Lucas Oil Championship Cup Series racing at the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday, May 9, in the 360 sprint-car division.

Hall's night started off slow as he struggled with another unfortunate turn at the draw window for starting position and a missed setup in his heat race. His hot-lap times were good enough for 14th place out of the

41 competitors in the division on this night.

An unlucky draw saw him start sixth in his heat race and an ill-handling race car dropped him back to a ninth-place finish in that event. That put him outside the front row to start the night's C-Main. The crew had the car in good shape for that race and Hall won by a large margin.

The win transferred him to the night's B-Main, starting in 19th spot. He put on a good show in that race, coming to a 13th-place finish in 10 laps. His times in that event, however, showed that he was the fifth fastest competitor on the track.

That gives the crew something good to build on for the third round of Knoxville Championship Cup Series action on Saturday, May 16, at Knoxville Raceway.

The car is owned by Charles and Doris Hall. Crew members are Darrell Bonesteel, Steve Lindell, Cass Page and Cole Page. Regular sponsors include Maxim Racing, Parker Engines, APC Emmert Metal Fabricators, Marion Dairy Queen, Seal-It International, Thompson Aero Service and Chalk Stix Torsion Bars.

The team continues to actively seek funding for its 2009 efforts. New sponsorship at all levels is welcome for the season, partial season or even a one-race opportunity. Work will continue on new marketing ideas and further development of the team’s newly revamped website at www.johnhallracing.com this year.
