John Hall Racing makes first main of the year
by: Stacy Ervin

MARION, IOWA (May 16, 2009)—John Hall and his Left Turn Enterprises racing team are continuing to show that 2009 has vast improvements in store for the veteran driver from Marion, Iowa. The team ran the third night of Lucas Oil Championship Cup Series racing at the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday, May 16, in the 360 sprint-car division. The night brought much better luck and Hall made his first main event this season.

After crew members proved unlucky at the draw window for starting position the first two weeks of racing, Hall took matters into his own hands and drew out a number three pill, putting him on the pole of the second heat race.

His hot-lap times were very impressive, showing he was fastest among the

12 competitors in his flight for a couple of laps. He wound up 15^th out of 38 total drivers in this division. He started his heat race first and finished first in convincing fashion.

A 10-car invert for starting position in the feature event saw Hall push off in seventh spot. An experimental set up and a slicked over track surface dropped him back to a 16^th place finish, but the team was happy to celebrate a good night.

That gives the crew something good to build on for the fourth round of Knoxville Championship Cup Series action on Saturday, May 23, at Knoxville Raceway. There is also a possibility of making a 2009 debut with the Sprint Invaders Association on Friday, May 22, at CJ Raceway in Columbus Junction, Iowa.

The car is owned by Charles and Doris Hall. Crew members are Darrell Bonesteel, Steve Lindell, Cass Page and Cole Page. Regular sponsors include Maxim Racing, Parker Engines, APC Emmert Metal Fabricators, Marion Dairy Queen, Seal-It International, Thompson Aero Service and Chalk Stix Torsion Bars.

The team continues to actively seek funding for its 2009 efforts. New sponsorship at all levels is welcome for the season, partial season or even a one-race opportunity. Work will continue on new marketing ideas and further development of the team’s newly revamped website at www.johnhallracing.com <http://www.johnhallracing.com/> this year.
