Knoxville Nationals 50th
Anniversary Tour On the Road

KNOXVILLE, IA (March 27) - The
Knoxville Nationals 50th Anniversary Tour kicked off earlier this month with
stops at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa and then the Lucas Oil ASCS
Sprint Tour at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Texas.
The tour will continue throughout 2009 and 2010 attending races and events
throughout the country over the two year span. The next three stops will be
in Des Moines, Iowa. April 3rd at the Des Moines Bucaneers, April 7th at the
2009 Beverage Show and April 11th at the Iowa Chops game at Wells Fargo
Arena.
The tour includes the Pella Motors Chevy 2500 4 x 4 that will pull the 24’
custom trailer that houses a sprint car simulator, special 50th Anniversary
temporary tattoos, SuperClean samples and several other promotional items.
Dates for the 49th SuperClean Knoxville Nationals presented by Lucas Oil are
August 12-15, 2009. Dates for the 50th are August 11-14, 2010. Many new
special activities are being planned for both 2009 and 2010 including music,
parades, fan fests and other exciting activities.
“Fifty years is a historic landmark for this great event and we plan to make
it the best one ever.” Stated Ralph Capitani, Knoxville’s Race Director.
“The drivers, the fans and the workers have all made this track what it is
today, and on the 50th we want everyone to feel as special as they did in
1961.”
