Knoxville Raceway Opening Weekend Festivities

KNOXVILLE, IA (April 10) - On April 25th Knoxville Raceway will open its
doors for another great season of sprint car racing. Thirty-five events will
carry the season through October 3rd.
The Lucas Oil Knoxville Championship Cup Series will see the classic battles
renewed between Rock and Roll Billy Alley and Blackjack Brian Brown in the
410 class. 2008 defending 360 champion Matt Moro will have his hands full
defending his title against runner-up Jessie Giannetto.
Opening night will start early on the 25th with the Knoxville Draggins Car
Club sponsoring a Car Show Saturday from 10:00 am till 3:00 pm. The show
will be held in the VIP parking area, south of the grandstand. Registration
is limited to the first 200 participant. Registration is $20.00 The 1st 25
will receive free T-shirts and the 1st 100 Dash Plaques. The top 21 entries
will be honored with trophies.
A cruise around Lake Red Rock is planned at 3:00 pm just before the Sprint
Car Races at 7:00 pm that evening. For additional details on the car shop

On Sunday, April 26th the Ottumwa Motorsports Car Club will be hosting a
Celebrity Autocross at the infield of the historic Raceway. A mini-grand
prix course will be set up for drivers in street and competition cars. Car
Clubs with Corvettes, Mustangs, and Imports will be competing for fast time.
Also competing will be Sprint Car Drivers, Media Personalities, and Figure 8
Drivers.
Lou Sipolt of 95 KGGO and "THE CHICK" will be competing for fast time
against 360 Sprint Car Driver Matt Morro (2008 360 Track Champion), Jeff
Mitrisin, Davey Heskin, Jon Agan, Dustin Selvage, plus Wade King, FWD
Champion at Warren County Raceway. Drivers who compete at English Creek
Speedway will also be attempting to set fast time. To find out how to enter
