KNOXVILLE, IOWA (June 24, 2009) - The reception honoring Donny Schatz for his third brick in the Knoxville Nationals Wall of Champions set for this Saturday afternoon, June 27, has been changed to 4 p.m. due to previous commitments. Donny Schatz is the three-time and defending SuperClean Knoxville Nationals champion and will be on-hand at 4 p.m. to receive his honor and greet the public. Knoxville Raceway announcer and Speed Channel television reporter Tony Bokhoven will emcee the free and open-to-the-public affair, which is being held in conjunction with the World of Outlaws (WoO) sprint car series appearance at Knoxville Raceway that evening. The Knoxville Nationals Wall of Champions is a tribute to all of those sprint car drivers that have won the sport's national championship since its inception in 1961. The building of the wall was a joint effort between the Knoxville Raceway and the National Sprint Car Museum, and it was initiated by the family of 1975 and '76 Knoxville Nationals champion Eddie Leavitt upon his passing in 2003. For additional information about Saturday's ceremony, which will include free refreshments, individuals are urged to contact the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame by calling 641-842-6176 or 800-874-4488. The National Sprint Car Museum may also be found on-line at www.sprintcarhof.com and www.sprintcarstuff.com.
