Fireworks in the Sky and on the Track This Weekend!

(Bill W) (June 30) - Don’t miss our weekend of fireworks and nostalgia on Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame this Friday and Saturday nights! On Friday, the popular annual Hot Rod Reunion will take place in conjunction with “Nostalgia at Knoxville”. Fireworks will follow the night’s events. On Saturday, three classes of sprint cars will hit the track for Wal-Mart Night, including twin features for the 360s!

Friday’s “Nostalgia at Knoxville” event has become more and more popular over the years. Cars from Knoxville’s past come to life in this one-of-a-kind event! From jalopies to supermodifieds to sprint cars, celebrate Knoxville’s past as the cars hit the famous ½ mile once again! Vintage organizations from throughout the Midwest are invited to participate! The Hot Rod Reunion gives car buffs a dream doubleheader. A full fireworks show follows all events on Friday!

Terry McCarl tamed the World of Outlaws last weekend, and the Altoona, Iowa driver is expected to be amongst the participants on Wal-Mart Night this Saturday! “Blackjack” Brian Brown has won two weekly 410 features in a row, and he hopes to continue that. Point leader, “Hollywood” Johnny Herrera, Lynton Jeffrey, Don Droud Jr., Dusty Zomer, “Dynamite” Mark Dobmeier, “Tornado” Billy Alley, Bronson Maeschen, Skip “Action” Jackson and “The Mad Man” Kerry Madsen are some of the other drivers scheduled to appear in the 410 class.

Twin features are on the card for the 360s! Clint Garner is attempting to go wire-to-wire as the 360 point champion, and last week, the Sioux Falls, South Dakota driver became the seventh different winner in seven races in the highly competitive class. Ryan Roberts, Gregg Bakker, rookie Jonathan Cornell and Brett Mather round out the top five in the point standings headed into the weekend.

In addition, the 305 sprints will be back running a full program, and completing the sprint car tripleheader!
