OUTLAWS, PHOTOGS & KENNY GRITZ MEMORIES HIGHLIGHT WEDNESDAY
OF KNOXVILLE NATIONALS FAN FAIR AT MUSEUM
KNOXVILLE, IOWA (July 30, 2009) - The Wednesday, August 12, portion of the
four-day Knoxville Nationals Fan Fair at the National Sprint Car Museum is
coming together well, with salutes to ‘Kenny Gritz & the 1969 Knoxville
Nationals’, sprint car racing photographers, and the ‘World of Outlaws’ (WoO)
highlighting the day’s schedule. According to curator Tom Schmeh this week,
“One day after saluting Mario Andretti’s 1969 Indianapolis 500 win with the
debut of Donny Schatz’ new STP paint scheme here at the museum, John Katich
and Bob Mays will be interviewing guests with great memories of Kenny Gritz’
win in the 1969 Knoxville Nationals. And Scott Watson and Johnny Gibson have
done equally great jobs of preparing for their forums honoring photographers
and the 31-year-old WoO national series, respectively.”
