National Sprint Car Museum to be Represented at Weld Family
Memorial
KNOXVILLE, IOWA (Sept. 16, 2009) - The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame has
again been invited by Valley Speedway management to be a part of the
inaugural Weld Family Memorial this weekend, September 18-19, in Grain
Valley, Missouri. The museum will be represented by executive director Bob
Baker, marketing manager Chuck Stowe, and the Mark Randol-owned Taylor
“Pappy” Weld supermodified that is currently on loan at the Knoxville-based
museum.
According to Bob Baker, who had worked for the late Greg Weld in Kansas
City, “We are very excited about heading to the Valley Speedway this weekend
to be a part of this inaugural event for the 305-cubic-inch sprint cars. And
we have to thank Mark Randol for allowing us to exhibit Kenny Weld’s
Knoxville Nationals-winning supermodified. We look forward to meeting many
old friends, and making some new ones, on behalf of the National Sprint Car
Hall of Fame & Museum.”
Valley Speedway is located in Grain Valley, MO I-70 exit 24, South 1 mile on
Main Street (Buckner-Tarsney Rd) then a quarter mile east on old US 40 (Hwy
