Knoxville Draggins Car Club & National Sprint Car Museum Partner on Motorcoach Trip to “Speedy” Bill Smith’s Museum of American Speed

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (January 25, 2010) - The Knoxville Draggins Car Club and the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum are pleased to announce that they will be partnering on a roundtrip motorcoach excursion to “Speedy” Bill Smith’s Museum of American Speed in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Saturday, April 17. The trip will be highlighted by a three-hour guided tour of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee’s personal collection of motorsports memorabilia, including many historically significant open-wheel race cars.

Said Knoxville Draggins Car Club member “Butch” Smith this week, “We feel honored to be get this chance to have a personalized behind-the-scenes look at one of America’s premier automotive museums. Many couples from our local car club have already reserved their space on this 56-seat motorcoach, as have many National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum Foundation members. We need all pre-paid reservations in by March 17, and I don’t think we’ll have any problems filling the bus. This truly will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many of us ‘car nuts’!”

The motorcoach will depart the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum parking lot in Knoxville on Saturday, April 17, at 8:30 a.m. It will arrive in Lincoln, Nebraska, at 12 Noon, with a light catered lunch being the first order of the day. Following lunch, at 1 p.m., the guided tour will commence. The bus will then depart “Speedy” Bill Smith’s Museum of American Speed at 4 p.m., returning to Knoxville at 7:30 p.m. The cost per person is $35, which includes the roundtrip motorcoach ride, light lunch and guided tour.

The tour is limited to 56 people, handled in a first-come, first-served manner based on the date of full payment. Cash, checks, money orders and credit cards are accepted at the National Sprint Car Museum store. Checks should be made payable to the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum, which is accepting reservations seven days a week until the March 17 deadline.
