KNOXVILLE, IOWA (August 6, 2010) - It was a good night for the Knoxville regulars who swept the podium on the opening night qualifying event for the 20th Annual Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals, presented by Windstream. Brian Brown, a former track champion in the 360 class who currently leads the Knoxville Championship Cup Series points in the 410 division, led 19 of the 20 laps in the Lucas Oil ASCS sanctioned event at the Knoxville Raceway on Thursday, August 5. Rounding out 2nd and 3rd were Knoxville Veteran’s Dustin Selvage and Chad Humston. The goal on qualifying night to gain the maximum number of points to put yourself in a good starting position for the Finals on Saturday. The top 20 in points automatically qualify for the A Main on Saturday. Knoxville regulars also dominated the point race entering night two led by Chad Humston with 493. Rounding out the top five were Dustin Selvage 490, Bronson Maeschen 479, Brian Brown 478, and Matt Covington 474. Tonight the other half of the 118 car field will do battle on the legendary ½ mile oval of Knoxville Raceway. Included in tonight’s entries are former champions Dennis Moore Jr., Shane Stewart and Gary Wright. Additionally, last year’s 360 Rookie of the Year Cale Conley will go wheel to wheel with the likes of Sammy Swindell, Brooke Tatnell, Randy Hannigan and Johnny Hererra. The 360 Knoxville Nationals kicks off the 10 days of Iowa Speed Weeks, including the Iowa Speedway USAC Non-Winged Knoxville Nationals on Sunday, 2 races in Oskaloosa on Monday and Tuesday and the Granddaddy of them all the Knoxville Nationals Wednesday through Saturday, August 11-14.
