KNOXVILLE, IOWA (August 11, 2010) - Despite a last place finish in the Wednesday preliminary feature, Bronson Maeschen of nearby Pleasantville has taken the lead in the point standings for the ten-night Cox Design & Metal Fabrication Iowa SpeedWeek. Sammy Swindell dropped to second in the points, although he will compete in Thursday’s second preliminary show for the open-competition 50th annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals presented by Lucas Oil at the Knoxville Raceway. Shane Stewart, winner of last week’s Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals and a two-time “Mr. Sprint Car” titlist, won Wednesday’s event. The unofficial top twenty in the 2010 Cox Design Iowa Speedweek points after seven nights are as follows: 1., Bronson Maeschen, 205 points; 2., Sammy Swindell, 194 points; 3., Brandon “Bud” Kaeding, 185 points; 4., Brady Bacon & Brooke Tatnell, 167 points (tied); 6., Davey Heskin, 162 points; 7., Robby Wolfgang, 161 points; 8., Shane Stewart, 150 points; 9., Johnny Herrera, 137 points; 10., Jason Johnson & Jamie Veal, 137 points (tied); 12., Cale Conley, 130 points; 13., Randy Hannagan, 126 points; 14., Brian Brown, 121 points; 15., Tony Bruce, Jr., 117 points; 16., Mark Dobmeier, 110 points; 17., Rager Phillips, 109 points; 18., Tim Kaeding, 104 points; 19., Dustin Selvage, 96 points; 20., Bryan Clauson, 94 points. The Cox Design & Metal Fabrication Iowa Speedweek includes ten straight nights of sprint car racing between Knoxville Raceway and the Southern Iowa Speedway.
