KNOXVILLE, IOWA (December 27, 2010) – National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee and National Speed Sport News editor and publisher emeritus Chris Economaki has always believed in preserving motorsports history and he continues to show it today as a portion of the net proceeds of “Cleaning Out Chris Economaki’s Closet” will benefit the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing (EMMR) in York Springs, Pennsylvania, and the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum in Knoxville, Iowa. Fans interested in picking up a piece of history from Chris’ collection are encouraged to visit the newspaper’s web site at http://www.nationalspeedsportnews.com/nssn-store/apparel/cleaning-out-chris-economakis-closet/. According to National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum curator Tom Schmeh, “We can’t thank Chris and Corinne Economaki enough for always thinking of us. They realize that non-profit museums need on-going support and their commitment to motorsports museum is second to none. I know National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee and EMMR board president Lynn Paxton feels the same as I do about the Economaki family’s longstanding commitment to preserving auto racing history. When Corinne said this morning that she was going to sell some of the items that had built up in Chris’ closet over the years with a portion of the profits to be donated to charity, I said, ‘Let ‘em all go!’ And I quickly added, 'Take a bow, Chris & Corinne!'” Those individuals interested in “Cleaning Out Chris Economaki’s Closet” are urged to visit http://www.nationalspeedsportnews.com/nssn-store/apparel/cleaning-out-chris-economakis-closet/.
