More $$$$ for Stock Cars and Modifieds at Shiverfest

DONNELLSON, IA. (Oct. 6, 2006) - Donna Smith of Farmington Tax Service in Farmington, Iowa, has signed on as the second purse sponsor for the 2006 version of Shiverfest scheduled for Saturday October 21st at the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson. A new addition to this year’s event, the Purse Sponsorship program gives racing supporters the opportunity to sponsor the division, or divisions of their choice with 100% of the sponsors’ commitment going to the drivers and divided evenly among the top ten positions.

Smith’s generous donation of $200 will be split evenly between the Stock Cars and Modifieds resulting in a ten dollar bump for each of the top ten positions in those two classes. Previously Jean Church of Mt. Pleasant added $50 each to the two divisions and the updated purses for those two divisions are below. B-Modifieds, Hobby Stocks and the Four-Cylinder “Wild Things” are also on the card.

Pit gates will open at noon on October 21st and drivers are encouraged to arrive early. The pill draw will end at 3:00 p.m. as the drivers’ meeting begins and hot laps will get underway at 3:15. Drivers who would like to participate in trick-or-treating for the kids should have their car and their treats ready to go to the infield at 4:00 and green flag racing will get underway at 4:30 p.m..
