Hobby Stock Purse Jumps at Shiverfest
DONNELLSON, IA. (Oct. 17, 2006) - Two area businesses have stepped to the plate
for the Hobby Stock division boosting the winner’s share to a solid $500 for the
seventh running of Shiverfest to be held this Saturday at the Lee County
Speedway in Donnellson. Tracy St. Clair of T.A. Auto and Tire in Keokuk has
designated that $245 will be added to the top position for the Hobby Stock
division that regularly draws a diverse field of cars from throughout the
tri-state area for this event. St. Clair will also select a “Hard Luck” award
winner in this division the day of the race and award that driver an additional
$50 for his or her efforts.
Dave Ellingboe of Donnellson Tire has also designated the Hobby Stocks as his
division of choice for a $100 purse sponsorship. Sixty dollars of this donation
will be awarded to the runner-up position and forty dollars will go to the
third-place driver. With the support of these two fine area businesses the Hobby
Stock division now becomes the second highest winner’s purse on the card.
