Lee County has five
dates for IMCA Sunoco Late Models
DONNELLSON, Iowa (March 14) – IMCA Sunoco Late Models will join five Friday
night programs this season at Lee County Speedway.
National, local and Smiley’s Racing Products state points will be given for May 11, June 1, June 22, Aug. 3 and Aug. 17 events at the 3/8 mile dirt venue. A track champion will also be crowned in the class, to be sponsored by Ideal Ready Mix of West Burlington.
Each feature will pay $600 to win and a minimum of $100 to start. The track champion earns a $500 share of the $1,500 point fund to be paid to the top 10 drivers.
“Lee County is a track many of the area Late Model drivers are very familiar with and we’re glad promoter Terry Hoenig was interested in getting them back on the program,” said IMCA Vice President of Operations Brett Root. “Because 10 races is the minimum for the full points bonus awarded to track champions, the Late Model titlist at Lee County will earn a pro-rated 50 percent national bonus.”
IMCA also sanctions the Modified and Stock Car classes at Donnellson, where the regular point season starts April 27.
