Bounty, Bonus, Aussie Pursuit Highlight Pepsi Inside Track / KRNQ Night By Jake Croxton DONNELLSON, IA (June 10) - The IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing program continues at the Lee County Speedway during Pepsi Inside Track / KRNQ 96.3 Night at the Races. Among the other special events on track, all Keokuk residents showing proof of ID will be admitted for $5 at the admissions window off the track. Dean Kratzer’s run of five straight Donnellson Tire Hobby Stock wins has been impressive, to say the least. One week after beating the “bounty hunters” for a $50 share of the $190 bounty, the pot has grown to a whopping $400. The Hobby Stock competitors will have $625 on the line for their 15-lap feature. Kratzer MUST finish the race for the bounty to be paid. Shelly Keltner of Shottenkirk has some extra money on the line for the Shottenkirk Parts Express Wild Thing drivers. This week’s feature event will pay $200 to win. Two $25 mystery spots will be drawn by the feature winner after the race. The Budweiser IMCA Stock Cars will have a little extra to race for as they are the focus of the Performance Bodies Dash Series this week. The top 6 qualifiers will be inverted and run an Australian Pursuit, which will pay $50 to win and $25 for second in Performance Bodies product certificates. Third place will receive a Lee County Speedway pit pass. The cars will start single-file. Whoever gets passed is eliminated. If the leader makes it to the line within the race distance, he will win. The Miller Lite IMCA Modifieds and the Lawson Racing Engines and Parts Supply SportMods will also be in action. Next Wednesday, June 18, the O’Reilly Auto Parts Winged Outlaw Warriors will be on hand along with the IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Stock Cars. The Wild Things have been added to the show as well. Hot Laps are scheduled for 7pm on “Friday the 13th”. Racing will follow at 7:30. General admission is $8 for Adults (18-59), $7 Seniors (60+), $5 for Students (11-17) and Free for Kids (10 and under). Pit passes are $20. Tina Cale is this week’s Fantasy Racing winner with a score of 212. Cale’s winning team included Tyler Cale (Modified), Rob Hammel (Wild Thing), Jeff Mueller (Stock Car), Jason Cook (Stock Car), and Dean Kratzer (Hobby Stock). Bill Knisley holds a 5-point overall lead over Cindy Cook. Don’t forget to check out the Lee County Speedway Race Report online at www.leecountyspeedway.com . |
