Liberty Cup special is Thursday at Lee County Speedway
DONNELLSON, Iowa (June 29) – IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars will
be joined by Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods at Lee County Speedway’s
Thursday, July 2 Liberty Cup special.
Modifieds run for $1,500 to win in a 2010 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational
ballot qualifying event. Stock Car drivers chase a top prize of $1,000, with
the winner becoming eligible to qualify for the Sunoco Race Fuels Race of
Champions at this September’s IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals.
Northern SportMods joined weekly cards at Donnellson this season and make
their Liberty Cup debut. First place in that feature pays $500.
National, regional and Smiley’s Racing Products state points will be
awarded.
Pit gates and the grandstand both open at 5 p.m., hot laps are at 7 p.m. and
racing starts at 7:30 p.m.
Entry fees are $50 for Modifieds, $35 for Stocks and $15 for Northern
SportMods. Entry forms are available at the

Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $11 for seniors, $7 for students
11-17 and 10 and under will be admitted free. Pit passes are $25.

IMCA Late Models following Lee County’s ‘Drive For Five’ see action during
the Friday, July 3 program. Fireworks follow both July 2 and July 3 shows.
The Doug Townsend Memorial event for IMCA Modifieds was rained out on June
19 and has been rescheduled for Aug. 7. Paying $1,000 to win, that race is
also a qualifier for the All-Star Invitational ballot.
