Great American Stock Car Series adds Donnellson date
DONNELLSON, Iowa (Jan. 21) – IMCA’s Great American Stock Car Series makes
its first ever visit to Lee County Speedway this season, for the fourth and
final event of the Monday, June 28-Thursday, July 1 tour.
The series finale becomes part of the Liberty Cup special at Donnellson.
Opening night moves to Marshalltown Speedway. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars
headline the June 29 Kyle Suter Memo¬rial program at Buena Vista Raceway in
Alta.
Independence Motor Speedway hosts both the Stock Car series and the Deery
Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models on June 30.
All four main events pay $1,000 to win and minimum of $100 to start, putting
each feature purse at $5,250. Entry fee will be $50, with that amount paid
back in tow money to non-qualifiers.
“This series will pay $21,000 to feature qualifiers alone, making it one of
the richest weeks of the regular point season for Stock Car drivers,” said
IMCA Vice President of Operations Brett Root. “Moving Marshalltown to the
first night should make it possible for more drivers to follow the complete
series and we anticipate very good car counts each night.”
IMCA national, home region and state points will be awarded for each show
and the overall champion becomes eligible to qualify for the Sunoco Race
Fuels Race of Champions during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals in
September.
Point fund amounts for top 10 drivers in final series standings are to be
determined.
