Modified Smackdown opens season with $2,000 payday
IMCA Modifieds set for opening night at Lee County Speedway

DONNELLSON, Iowa (April 11, 2011) – Discount Tire & Service helps to bring back the Modified Smackdown for the second straight season to open the year at Lee County Speedway this Friday, April 15.

More than 20 IMCA Modifieds have already registered for the upcoming event that pays $2,000 to winner. Other lap sponsors have come on board to pay money to lap leaders, which could push the winner’s purse to over $3,000 if they lead ever lap of the event.

For each lap led, the leader will receive an extra $35, while the car running second each lap will receive $10. That means if one driver leads the entire 30-lap feature event, they can bank an extra $1,050. Drivers will get that $35 added to their check for every lap they lead, no matter where they finish, and likewise for ever lap they run second.

Also on the card will be IMCA Sport Mods, Hobby Stock and 4-Cylinders. The Sport Mods and Hobby Stocks will be racing for $500 to win, while the 4-Cylinders will be running for $250 to win.
