DONNELLSON, Iowa (Dec. 19, 2011) – With new ownership comes new ideas and
new events, and the first new event to be held at Lee County Speedway will
come Feb. 11, 2012.
The “Break Ice not Hearts 50” for 4-Cylinders will be a $1,000 to win event
held as alternative to not only offseason racing blues, but also something
for racing couples to do on a Saturday afternoon for an early Valentine’s
Day outing.
There is also the possibility to have Hobby Stocks on tap if there is
interest for the class to take part in the day’s racing fun.
A complete payout will be posted soon, but the “Break Ice not Hearts 50”
will have a $50 entry fee and at least the top 20 places will pay. If more
than 35 cars pre-register the purse will remain at $1,000 to win. If there
are 35 cars or less the purse will be reduced.
Entry for all who would like to brave the conditions, whatever they may be,
will be just $10, for grandstand/pit passes. All fans and racers will be in
the pit area as the main grandstands will not be open. Also, all couples can
get in for $15 as a pair.
