$1,000 to win, $200 start event helps fight hunger,
honors fall driver
DONNELLSON, Iowa (Mar. 21, 2012) – Midwest
Performance and Hy-Vee host the Together WE Fight Hunger 25 for 35 in honor
of Brian Hetrick, April 20, 2012 at Lee County Speedway.
The first
Sprint Car event of the 2012 season takes to the 3/8th mile Lee County
Speedway, with $1,000 to win and $200 to start for 305 Sprints. Gates will
open at 5:30 p.m. with hot laps at 7 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m., pit
passes will be $25 and grandstand admission is $10.
Also on the card
for the night are IMCA Hobby Stocks, Mod Lites and IMCA Sport Compacts. Both
IMCA classes will be running for Regional and National points. Track points
will not start until April 27.
Early registration is open for the
Sprint Cars, and is $25, which will include the driver’s pit pass. By
registering early, the driver is entered into a drawing for products from
Midland Performance, Hoosier Tire Midwest, Jockos Sprint Parts, Kustum
Sprint Car Supplies and Boubin Tire & Wheel.
Registrations must be
returned before April 19th to be entered in the drawing for pre-registered
drivers.
Cars from all three area 305 sanctioning bodies will be
legal for the one day event, including Knoxville rules, 34 Raceway rules and
Midwest 305 rules.
A passing point system will be used for this one
show at Lee County Speedway, with a six car dash used to set up the front
three rows of the feature event. The heat race winners and the top cars in
passing points from the heat races will be used to fill the six car dash
field. Positions 7-16 will be lined up according to passing points received
during heat races.
The B-main will be lined up according to heat race
passing points, with the top four transferring to the A-main. Those four
cars will tag the tail of the field as they finished the B-main.
The
event’s Sprint Car payout is listed below, as is the Mod Lite payout. One
thing to notice with the Sprint Car payout, tow money is just $50, but pays
$100 to start the B-main. The top 4 from the B-main will transfer to the
A-main, 5th on back will be paid at least $100 – checkout the payout info
for exact amounts.
