MLRA/MARS Spring Thunder set for The Lucas Oil Speedway on
April 14th
With Special Guest-The Chrome Shop Mafia

WHEATLAND, MO. (April 10) - The Lucas Oil Speedway explodes into action for 2007
with the season opening Orscheln's Farm and Home MLRA/MARS Spring Thunder Late
Model Challenge presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts on Saturday, April 14th with
support from the Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds, the TCI Transmission Factory Stocks,
and the Chester Fried Chicken B-Mods! Grandstand gates open at 5:00, with Hot
Laps at 6:30 and racing to follow.
Drivers set to smash the loud pedal in the Super Late Models include Multi-time
MLRA Champions, Al Purkey and Alan Vaughn, 4-Time and defending MARS Champion
Bill Frye, and the all time win leader and past Multi-time Champion in both
series, Terry Phillips. Other drivers expected for the $3,000 to win top prize
include Jason Bodenhamer, Brandon McCormick, Scott Drake, Jack Sullivan, Jeff
Taylor, Jeremy Payne, and Steve Rushin, plus many more of the region's best Late
Model pilots!
The Chrome Shop Mafia will be in the house on April 14th with an appearance by
the flamed Kenworth Tow Rig aptly named "Inferno". The Mafia will also have
their massive souvenir trailer on site with CSM merchandise available for
purchase.
There will be an interactive Dirt Modified racing simulator on site for the
racing fan that wants to feel the excitement of driving in a real modified.
Paco, the King of the Rollovers is also still on the card for the long awaited
extreme rollover exhibition.
Adult admission price for the MLRA/MARS Spring Thunder is $17, Seniors and
Students 12-17 are $15, race fans 7-11 are $5, and kids 6 and under are admitted
free to the speedway. Season passes are available for $200 for students and
seniors, adult season passes are $300.
If the weather is inclement on Saturday, a decision will be made by 10:00am
Saturday, April 14th and posted on the
www.lucasoilspeedway.com website as to whether or not we will be able
to race on Saturday. If we are forced to cancel due to the weather, we will use
Sunday, April 15th as the rain date. If we have to race on Sunday, gates would
open up at Noon with Hot Laps at 2:00pm and racing to follow. As a reminder,
there would be no liquor sales on Sunday at the Lucas Oil Speedway.
The state of the art speedway has 21 luxury VIP Suites available for rental on a
nightly or seasonal basis. All suites have indoor seating, leather sofas,
heating and AC, countertop with sink, refrigerator, TV with cable service and an
audio system. Outdoor stadium style seating is also included with suites for 10
to 50 people. Several catered food and beverage options are also available. The
track features a MUSCO stadium lighting system which provides camera ready
lighting for news and TV coverage and an "award winning" audio system featuring
all Bose speakers. A Jumbo-Tron Video Board entertains fans no matter where you
sit with live racing footage, video highlights, sponsor ads, and live timing and
scoring.
Stop in at the "Track Treasures" gift shop for that unique souvenir to remember
your visit to the Lucas Oil Speedway. Gifts for all ages in all price ranges can
be found with each one sure to be a treasured memory of your night at the
speedway. For the kid and competitor in all of us we offer our slick surface
Go-Kart rental track. If you think the competition on the dirt track is tough,
get your friends together for some exciting wheel to wheel go-kart action.
Upcoming events: April 21st will feature a full compliment of weekly racing at
the speedway as well as the "Earth Day" Junior Fan Club Activity. April 28th
will feature all six weekly classes in action with a special Driver
Autograph/Fan Day at the track. The speedway has many special events planned
throughout the season highlighted by the Lucas Oil Dirt Series Late Models
$25,000 to win Superchip's "Diamond of the Dirt Mothers Day" special presented
by O'Reilly Auto Parts on May 11th and 12th.

semi-banked clay oval located 5 Blocks south of US Highway 54, on State Highway
