Turner Doubles Up at Lucas Oil Speedway
By Dan Robinson - Lucas Oil Speedway PR
Wheatland, MO (April 28th, 2007)-Driving a masterful race in both cars and both
classes, Eric Turner captured the win in the Pitts Homes A-Modified Feature as
well as the TCI Transmission Factory Stock Feature in weekly racing action at
the Lucas Oil Speedway on April 28th, 2007. Youngster Rylan Long topped the ULMA
Miller Lite Late Models with Corey Pritchard winning the B-Mod feature, and
Nathan Vaughn wrapped up an exciting evening of racing by taking the Hobby Stock
class win on the 1/4 mile track.
In the TCI Transmission Factory Stocks, Eric Turner drove his familiar blue #1*
to the win with James Flood a close second. Rounding out the Top Five were Bob
Gustin, Troy Reasoner Jr., and Jim Reeves in his beautiful Black #18. The rest
of the top 10 included Keith Webster, Jeremy Dillon, Larry Rifenburg, Brain
Webster, and Troy White Respectively.
Rylan Long in the Yellow #18 Monte Carlo started up front and held off multiple
restarts and challenges to take the win in the Miller Lite ULMA Late Models. He
was followed to the stripe by Matt Menzie, Shawn Williams, Chad Frewalldt, and
Kevin Kaiser. Finishing in 6th-10th were Toby Ott, J.D. Hubert, Kathy Pierson,
Donnie Gemes, and Marty Pope.
The race of the night was definitely in the Pitt's Homes A-Modified feature as
35 cars checked into the pits to tackle the state of the art 3/8 mile clay oval.
The last man standing in a thrilling 20 lap Green, White, Checkered race was
Hermitage's Eric Turner driving the newly skinned 99T after a rollover on
opening night. Eric was back in his more familiar black colors this week and the
car was undeniably strong. Rex Merritt closed up in lapped traffic but could
only muster a 2nd place finish. Rounding out the Top 5 were Jason Hughes, Johnny
Fennewald, and Justin Folk in one of the most beautiful racecars to ever hit the
dirt. They were followed by Todd Kallweit, Justin Stoufer, Josh Hughes, Tony
Fatino, and another of the racing Hughes, Greg in 10th.
The Chester Fried Chicken B-Mods saw Corey Pritchard take the win in the Red
19P. Trailing him to the finish line were Lyle Dietrich, Travis Darling, Jim
Cihy, and Chris Bittner.
The Hobby Stocks rounded out the racing action for the evening with Nathan
Vaughn taking the win followed by Mike Schrader, Charles Coffey, Chris Williams,
and Adam Belt. .
