Dunham & Turner Headline Lucas Oil Speedway Winners-June 16th,
2007
By Dan Robinson
WHEATLAND, MO (June 18) - With dry slick but ultra competitive track conditions
being the theme of the night, Brandon Dunham made the right adjustments to
capture his first ULMA Miller Lite Late Model win of the season on a
breathtaking night of racing action at the Lucas Oil Speedway. Eric Turner
returned to victory lane in the Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds with Keith Webster
taking a hard fought win in the TCI Transmission Factory Stocks. Kyle Smith
wrapped up the evening by winning the Chester Fried Chicken Hobby Stock Feature.
The ULMA Miller Lite Late Models would see Brandon Dunham hold off multiple
challenges from Chad Frewaldt to take the win with Frewaldt maintaining the 2nd
spot. California, Missouri's Jeff Schlup took 3rd with Johnny Fennewald marching
from his 12th starting position to take 4th. Bryan Allison rounded out the top
5. Rylan Long, Matt Menzie, Walt Imhoff, James Rutledge, and Hermitage's Kathy
Pierson were 6th-10 respectively.
Johnny Fennewald took the green flag from the pole in the Pitt's Homes
A-Modifieds but couldn't hold off a hard charging Eric Turner as he came from
the second row to take the win. Rex Merritt followed him across the stripe a
close second with Fennewald ending up 3rd. Urbana's Terry Kirk fought from his
8th starting position to take 4th with local favorite Jason Pursley completing
the top 5. Jason Hughes of the "racing Hughes" family finished 6th, Richard
turner was 7th, with Tracy Wolf, Keith Short, and Todd Kallweit also finishing
in the top 10.
Keith Webster in the orange 77W gutted out a hard fought win to take the
checkered flag ahead of Aaron Gustin in the TCI Transmission Factory Stock
feature. Kenny Carroll, driving a stunning blue and white late model bodied
Pontiac Firebird finished third with Troy Reasoner Jr. and Shawn Danuser in 4th
and 5th. Troy White and Bob Gustin finished 6th and 7th with Brad Mahnke and
Chad Cowan both visiting the speedway from Geering, NE finishing 8th and 9th.
Tony Palmer rounded out the Top 10.
Kyle Smith started on the pole and took the win in the Chester Fried Chicken
Hobby Stocks running on the big track as they will the rest of the season.
Syracuse, Missouri's Adam Belt started 2nd and finished 2nd. Tanner Young, Don
Belt, and Paco Quintero came in 3rd through 5th. The rest of the top 10 included
Chris Williams, Colson Kirk, Michael McGilvray, and Mike Schrader.
