The battle for the Miller Lite ULMA Late Model crown has come down to a
magnificent three way race between Greenfield, Missouri youngster Rylan Long,
Jeff Schlup from California, Missouri and defending Lucas Oil Speedway track
champion Kevin Kaiser. Long has commanded the lead for a majority of the season
but Kaiser has lurked closely all summer. Kaiser's recent string of bad luck has
seen him slip to third in the standings, just 51 points behind Long. The other
end of the spectrum has seen Schlup go on a tear winning the last two races and
moving up to second in the standings only 44 points back of Long. Harlen Kennedy
sits in third with 17-yr old J.D. Hubert holding down the fifth spot. The
remainder of the Top 10 includes Matt Menzie, Shawn Williams, Andy Kennedy,
Kathy Pierson, and Toby Ott.
The Pitt's Homes A-Modified season long point's battle has come down to two of
the best modified drivers in the region and in the nation as far as that goes.
Rex Merritt, the veteran from Billings, MO has all but wrapped up the crown with
Hermitage, Missouri's Eric Turner 58 markers back. Todd Kallweit from Wheatland
sits in third spot 154 points back of the leader with Terry Kirk and Jeff
Cutshaw also in the Top 5. Jason Pusley is only two points behind Cutshaw as he
tries to move into that fifth spot. Johnny Fennewald, Donnie Fellers, Evan
Hubert, and Richard Turner are sixth-tenth respectively and look to maintain
that Top 10 status.
The fight for the Chester Fried Chicken Hobby Stock Championship is also coming
down to the wire as Syracuse, Missouri Adam Belt holds a miniscule point lead
over Sedalia's Mike Schrader. Don Belt sits in third, 54 pints behind son Adam.
Chris Williams holds down the fourth position with Jacob Hall in fifth. Michael
McGilvray is sixth, Colson Kirk is seventh, and Tanner Young after running a
limited schedule sits in eighth. Kyle Smith and Paco Quintero are ninth and
tenth respectively.
