Season Championship on the Line at Nevada Speedway!

BUCKNER, MO (October 12, 2009) - Coffeyville, Kansas' Al Purkey and Omaha, Nebraska's John Anderson head to the Nevada Speedway for the final O'Reilly MLRA Presented by Lucas Oil Products event of the 2009 season this Saturday, Oct. 17th separated by just 12 points in the season long battle for the MLRA Championship.

Purkey, a 5-time MLRA Champion leads the standings with 1363 points despite not capturing a single MLRA feature win in 2009. He has been the model of consistency however throughout the season driving his Bill Koon's owned machine. Anderson, the Defending MLRA Champion, on the other hand with 1351 points has had his three MLRA wins offset by some mechanical gremlins that have dropped him deep in the field in recent weeks erasing what once was a fairly comfortable lead. Look for John to bring his "A" game however to Nevada as he works to capture back to back MLRA titles. Anderson did capture the race win a year ago at Nevada while also sewing up his first MLRA Championship. Purkey settled for 14th in the race a year ago.

Fellow Cornhusker, Joe Kosiski from Omaha, Nebraska sits in the third spot in the season points heading into the final event of the season with 1182 markers. Centerview, Missouri's Jason Bodenhamer has quietly worked his way up to the fourth spot with 1129 points while Adrian, Missouri veteran David Turner rounds out the Top-5 with 1065. Archie, Missouri's Matt Johnson leads the 2009 Rookie battle over Walnut Grove, Missouri's Jeremy Kelley and Greenfield, Missouri's Rylan Long. Complete and Updated Points standings are available at www.MLRAracing.com.
